The board is one of four Helene recovery boards Council set up on August 26, 2025. It works only on tasks from Council, a Council committee or City department directors. The at-large members are David George Nutter, Shuvonda Renete Harper, Michael Holcombe, Joe Balcken and Marty Benson. Six members from other boards were also named. All serve until June 30, 2027.
